Calls for proposals to strengthen migration partnerships, border management and internal security

Update Explained
The European Commission's Migration Partnership Facility (MPF) has launched three calls for proposals and opened new funding opportunities to support cooperation between EU Member States and certain non-EU countries. The aim is to enhance migration management in three key areas: Migration Partnerships, Border Management, and Internal Security. The Migration Partnerships Call, funded by the EU Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund (AMIF), seeks to improve migration policies and legal frameworks, particularly in supporting legal migration management, asylum policy, and protection. The Border Management Call, supported by the Border Management and Visa Instrument (BMVI), focuses on strengthening the management of the EU's external borders and improving security of identity and travel documents. The Internal Security Call, financed through the Internal Security Fund (ISF), aims to tackle irregular migration and migrant smuggling, and to combat human trafficking. Proposals can be submitted at any time until funds run out or the calls are closed, with all actions needing to be implemented by 30 June 2031.
