Update Explained

The Home Office has announced an additional £2.5 million in funding to support vulnerable EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens, as well as their families, in applying to the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS). This funding will be distributed to 68 grant-funded organizations across the UK, which are tasked with helping individuals who face challenges such as language barriers, IT issues, or other vulnerabilities. Since 2019, more than £27 million has been provided to such organizations to assist over 415,000 vulnerable individuals. The new funding will extend support until at least 30 September 2022, aiming to help disabled people, children, those with severe mental health conditions, victims of human trafficking or domestic abuse, and the homeless, elderly, or isolated. Although the original deadline for applications was 30 June 2021, individuals with reasonable grounds for missing the deadline can still make a late application.
